Grass and Ragweed Pollen Allergies in the United States
Allergies affect people at different times during the
year. Here is a list of the most common types of pollens and the
time of year when they are most likely to be in bloom.

Flowering Seasons
|
|
Pollen: |
Depending on where you live, the pollen
season can begin as early as January (in the southern states) and
lasts from February or March through October. |
|
Trees:
|
For each type of tree the flowering
period lasts roughly two weeks with the peak pollinating period
lasting only a few days. The tree season begins late February and
lasts until May. This may fluctuate in different
locations-starting in April in the northern United States to as
early as January in the south. |
|
Grass:
|
The flowering periods of each individual
species overlaps and begins in mid-March and lasts until
mid-August (depending on your region). Most people allergic to
grass are allergic to more than one species making this a long,
drawn-out suffering period. |
|
Ragweed:
|
This is the worst season of all because
it is one of the most potent allergens and it has a long season.
The pollination of ragweed lasts between six to eight weeks and
occurs at roughly the same time every year. The season ranges
from mid-August through November or until the first frost. Pollen
levels usually peak in mid-September. |
Featured Air Purifier:
The
Surround Air Multi-Tech has
a HEPA
filter, which is 99.97% effective at removing particles such as
allergens. It also has an ionizer, which has been proven in government
studies to enhance the performance of HEPA filters. Its UV light
destroys micro-organisms such as dust mites and mold.
